According to A..(AMERICAN) BKC, the vision behind the original standards that created this breed was to retain the agility, stamina and strength of the AMERICAN PitBull, while adding some build features, such as, a "blockier" head, well mannered temperament and overall bone and muscle structure from the AMERICAN StaffordShire.

ONLY THOSE TWO BREEDS

were used to produce the desired look and temperament of

THE ORIGINAL AMERICAN BULLY.

These days that original idea is being diluted (apologies, we mean to say "modified") using at least four other breeds to attain "different" (not necessarily better) physical traits.

1. AMERICAN Bulldog- bigger block heads & wider chest.

2. Original Staffy- here is where you get your shorter build and thick muscle tone, NOT from french or english!!

Personally, we don't mind the first two (Am Bull & The Staffy).

They offer something without hurting this AMERICAN breed.

Unlike the last two (English & Frenchys).

​

3. English Bulldog- wide "gator" mouths & shorter stops that lead to nasal cavity issues & overall breathing problems which lead to overheating. This dramatically reduces the agility & longevity of the pup which, no matter how you cut it, is NOT good for this breed.

4. French Bulldog- produces those "micros" that everyone seems to love. Packing the genetic thick mass and bone structure of an AMERICAN Bully onto a frame this small diminishes the size (structure) and strength as well as the overall agility, ultimately ceasing the desired standard for what is The AMERICAN Bully.   ​

Nevertheless, if the unintended breeding continues to produce these nonfunctional pups that can't walk/run the show ring without assistance (or being carried) due to joint and bone deficiencies (dwarfism), overheating & too many other issues to list, it is only a matter of time before what is being produced is not accepted by any registry as an-

"AMERICAN BULLY"
